About the
Authors
Denice Wheeler and Mac
McIntire are a mother-son team who offer their unique perspective on
the inevitable questions and legal challenges surviving family members
face when a loved one dies or is disabled. Both Denice and Mac are
nationally recognized speakers who share their expertise on a broad
spectrum of personal improvement topics. Their interest and
involvement in survivorship issues stem from years of helping people
identify, plan for, and successfully meet the demands of professional
and personal life.
As Chair of the Wyoming
Commission for Women, Denice addressed the unique challenges
confronting women in the workplace and after retirement. While
compiling information on retirement planning, Denice recognized the
problems survivor's face when their spouse or parents die without
proper planning or having shared information about their estate or
bequeathment wishes.
During this same period,
Mac, a management consultant, was helping companies envision and
prepare for the future through probability-scenario analysis, showing
them how to plan and organize to proactively meet those challenges. He
recognized that planning for one's death or disability by organizing a
Survivor's Journal is an important part of personal
preparedness.
